The Department of Health and Human Services Administration on Aging has proclaimed the month of May as Older Americans Month.
Mobile Art & Badger Dog, a creative writing program, are teaming up to offer an Art/Writing worhsop for Caregivers & Care-Recipients. Supported by St David’s Foundation’s Health’s Angels caregivers will work with teaching artist to create poetry and memoir while Mobile Art works with those living with Alzheimer’s. The 6 week program will take place at the Town Lake YMCA on Sundays, 1:-2:30pm, April 21 – May 26. All of the participants will have their writings and artwork featured in a single anthology to be published at the end of the workshop.
Thank you to both the St David’s Foundation Healths Angels and the Donald D. Hammill Foundation for their recent grants of $2,000 each! Keeping your funds local will benefit many seniors in the Austin area.
The LIVESTRONG voting ended at 5:pm Thurs., March 28th. Unfortunately we were not the winner in our category. THANK YOU to everyone that voted for us!
I’d like to volunteer for this. How do I sign up?
Please email Theresa at: mobileart@mail.org – thank you!
