MAP delivers art supplies, instructors and volunteers to local nursing homes and senior activity centers in Austin, Texas. Our goals are to improve the lives of seniors and disabled adults by giving them an outlet for creative expression.
Target demographics:
seniors and disabled adults who reside in nursing homes and assisted living centers; those who attend day programs (Elderhaven & McBeth Recreation) and participants of Alzheimer respite care programs (Mike’s Place & New Connections). Our primary focus is in low-income areas of Austin.
Old Bakery & Emporium exhibit: January 7 – February 4, 2012 . Join us for a reception on Feb. 2nd, 2:-4:pm to meet the artists. MAP participants will have an exhibit at the historic Old Bakery located one block south of the Texas Capitol (1006 Congress Avenue). All of the works will be available for purchase. The proceeds go directly to the artists.
MAP joined the National Guild for Community Arts Education, Dec. 2011
Founded in 1937, the Guild supports and advances access to lifelong learning opportunities in the arts. MAP is honored to be a member!

No, Sarah Achtemeier moved to Ashville from Austin earlier this year. Sarah was one of our instructors and we truly miss her. Ashville is lucky to have her!
