Sponsorship Levels:
Primary Colors $50 The French painter Delacroix developed the ‘color triangle’ showing how the primary colors can be mixed to create a variety of other colors with the three primaries: rouge (red) at the top, jaune (yellow) on the left, and bleu (blue) on the right, plus added the three secondaries as orange, violet, and vert (green). Your sponsorship of $50 will allows us to purchase non-toxic watercolor and acrylic paints, brushes, canvas and paper to use with our participants.
Vincent van Gogh $ 100 In 1885 Vincent van Gogh went to Antwerp where he discovered the works of Peter Paul Rubens. He was inspired by Rubens bright colors and mix of contemporary styles with that of his own. $100 will cover the admission & tour of a local museum (such as the Blanton) by 12 of our participants where they can become inspired by the works of many artists from history including van Gogh & Rubens.
- van Gogh sponsor: Kathleen Clark (March 2012)
Frida and Diego $ 250
This sponsorship level is inspired by the marriage of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, one of the most famous alliances between artists. They both had incredible talents and vision: Diego’s work would be more public and monumental, whereas Frida’s was more personal and intimate in scale. Your support will cover supplies for 5 of participants to explore their cultural heritage and life experiences through art for one year.
- Thank you Emma Lou Linn for becoming a Frieda & Diego supporter!!! (Jan 2012)
Medici Patron $500
The Medici family of Italy fostered and inspired the birth of the Italian Renaissance. Artists would be commissioned for years at a time. Their paintings were not just bought, but their supplies paid for, and they were encouraged to study. Michaelangelo was a great favorite. Your sponsorship will provide art instruction, the materials and framing for 24 works of art to be created by our participants. The funds will improve the lives of 10 seniors and disabled adults by giving them an outlet for creative expression for one year.
- Thank you to the LCRA Employee’s United Charities (Lower Colorado River Authority) for being our first Medici Patron! (Sept 2012)
